Vice President JD Vance is reacting to the death of Pope Francis a day after they met at the Vatican on Easter Sunday.
The vice president on Sunday shared photos of his meeting with Pope Francis, writing on social networks at that time: “I am grateful for his invitation to know and pray for his good health.”
Early Monday, Vance wrote on social networks: “Only [learned] of the death of Pope Francis. My heart is with the millions of Christians worldwide who loved him. I was happy to see him yesterday, although he was obviously very sick. “
“I will always remember him for the next homily he gave in the first days of Covid. It was really pretty beautiful,” Vance said, linking to the address.
