New Mexico Police investigating the mass shooting at the Park crosses

Police in New Mexico are investigating a mass shooting that happened on Friday night at the crossings, police said.

The shooting took place shortly after 10 pm on Friday and the Cruces Police and firefighters were sent to shooting and possible victims of shots near the parking lot of Young Park, according to a statement from the Cruces Police.

“The officers arrived and learned of multiple victims of shooting. The majority were transported to local hospitals. Some were taken to the medical center of El Paso de la Universidad,” said the police.

Police have not published information about the number of victims or the scope of their wounds, but said they are working to identify and confirm the suspect or suspects involved in this case.

“The Cruces Police are receiving the State Police of New Mexico, the Dona County Sheriff’s Office, the FBI and the agents of the Office of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives,” authorities said. “The area surrounding Young Park, particularly Walnut Street south of Lohman Avenue, is temporarily closed to traffic. The police encourages motorists to refrain from traveling or entering that area.”
