Toronto – Vladimir Guerrero Jr. reached his first homer of the season and led to a couple, Chris Bassitt threw five whitled entrances and the Toronto Blue Jays spoiled the return of Spencer Strider of elbow surgery by winning the Braves of Atlanta 3-1 on Wednesday.
Chris Bassitt (2-0) struck out a maximum of season 10 and allowed three hits, all singles. The right lowered its effectiveness to 0.77 through four openings.
The Blue Jays established a single game record and nine entries with 19 strikeouts.
