Wellington, New Zealand – A placid fishing trip became “craziest” for three New Zealand The men when a dolphin weighed more than 400 kilograms (900 pounds) seemed to fall from the sky before landing on their small boat.
No one hurt a lot when the 3.4 meters (11 feet) dolphin He jumped aboard the open boat on Friday, said Dean Harrison, the owner of the boat of almost 16 feet.
Harrison and two companions were fishing near the hole in the rock, a picturesque place on the northern coast of the Northern Island of New Zealand, while the dolphins advanced. The men saw a shadow through the brilliant summer sun and heard an almighty boom, before chaos was developed.
“This decided to jump aboard and greet,” Harrison said. “A minute everything was fine and then as a ray, there is a great dolphin in our boat hitting and breaking everything.”
The creature agitator broke “every fishing cane we had on the boat” and severely damaged the arch when the trio cling to the sides of the ship, Harrison said. A man had slight wounds in the arm where the youthful male dolphin touched his back and shoulder, but the three fishermen and the dolphin were not injured.
But returning to the majestic creature to the sea was not an option for the trio due to its size.
“We look at the dolphin still alive and breathe and think we have to start taking care of it and discovering what to do,” said Harrison. “Because he is caught in the boat for now, so he comes for the trip.”
The men alerted the New Zealand conservation agency and were aimed at a ramp for boats one hour away, where workers waited to help Dolphin. Along the way, the trio used a hose to keep the coat of the sun and protected from the sun using a wet towel that represents the players of the Rugby All Blacks team.
On the coast, the members of a local Maori tribe prayed for the dolphin before he was returned to the ocean using a tractor. The assistants gave a name to the 2 -year creature: Tohu, which means “signing” in the Maori language.
Tohu is now also the name of the Dean Harrison ship.
“The dolphin could swim and move away and we all have a story to tell,” he said. “It is a good ending in a situation that could have been very different.”
