The United States Treasury Secretary Scott Besent, will travel to Switzerland on Thursday, where he will meet with a senior Chinese official for economic issues, since the Chinese government says he has decided to “commit to the United States”
Besent’s meeting occurs as the commercial war between the United States and China continues.
The meeting also follows the Chinese government that supports the previous comments of President Donald Trump that the two countries were actively discussing trade.

In a statement, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce said that Besent would meet with the VicePrimer Premier He Lifeng.
“China has decided to accept interacting with the United States,”
“China’s position is consistent,” said a statement from the Chinese Ministry of Commerce. “Whether it is fighting or negotiating, China’s determination to safeguard their own development interests will not change, and its position and objective of defending international justice and justice and maintaining the international economic and commercial order will not change. If we fight, we will fight until the end; if we negotiate, the door is open.”
