Miami – On the weekend of the Nascar championship will return to Homestead-Miami Speedway next year, marking the first time since 2019 that the winners of the title will be crowned on the southern track of Florida.
Nascar made the announcement on Tuesday. Its three series, the series of trucks, the XFinity series and the Cup series, will see their seasons reach its end of November 6, 2026.
However, it is not a permanent return: Nascar said that on the championship weekends they will be in rotation “to ensure that the exciting conclusion of the season is shared between marquee places and the key markets of Nascar.”
“As we advance, the rotating model will provide new challenges for competitors, as well as the opportunities for unique places to receive our loyal fans in the Nascar championship weekend,” said Nascar’s executive vice president, Ben Kennedy.
Phoenix will be the host of the weekend of this year’s championship again, and Nascar said it will also be part of the rotation of the decision of titles in the future.
Homestead-Miami was the Weekend site of the 2002 to 2019 championship. There are three active pilots who were crowned Nascar Champions in Homestead: Kyle Busch in 2015 and 2019, Brad Keselowski in 2012 and Joey Logano in 2018. Logano has also won the title in Phoenix in two of the last three seasons, including last year.

Nascar decided after the 2001 season to move its truck races and cup to a track, to create a celebration of the seasonal championship. Homestead-Miami was the original site, and moved to Phoenix from 2020.
