Adelaide, Australia – Southern Australia has pursued a 269 racing record in a Australian first -class Cricket final to win its first Cricket Sheffield Shield title in 29 years.
Southern Australia scored 270-6 in his second innnings to beat Queensland for four Wickts on Saturday. It was the fourth day of the five -day scheduled final.
Jason Sangha led the South Australians with 126 undefeated, while Australian Wicktkeeper, Alex Carey, scored 105. The two combined for a 202 -run association.
Sangha hit the winning races when he cut a delivery of Callum Vidler of his pads for four to seal the victory. Several hundred fans ran to the field in Karen Rolton Oval in Adelaide when the game ended.
Carey, 33, had returned from an agitated season of international duties and directly from the Champions Trophy Tournament in Pakistan, where Australia Lost in the semifinals to India.
Queensland was removed by 95 in its first tickets: the lowest total of any team that first hitting a shield final that involves Australian state teams. Australia del Sur published 271 in response.
Queensland appeared in 221-6 in its second tickets, only 45 races ahead, at lunch on the third day on Friday. But the centuries of Jack Wildermuth (111) and Jack Clayton (100) led a return and Queensland reached 445 in their second tickets for its advantage of 269 races.
The highest previous persecution to win a final of the shield was Victoria 239-2 against Nueva Gales del Sur in 1990-91.
Jake Lehmann scored 102 in the first entries in southern Australia. He is the son of the Great Australia del Sur and the former national coach of Australia, Darren Lehmann, who played in the last victory of the State in 1995-96.
