New York – More people scores underwent Thursday as potential jurors for the New York of Harvey Weinstein Violation judgment.
The panel began to take shape on Wednesday, when Five women and four men were chosen for the rebirth of the #metao-era trial. After accusations about him emerged publicly in 2017 and fed the #Metoo Movement Against inappropriate sexual behavior, Weinstein faced research and prosecutions in multiple places. The former movie tycoon was convicted of rape for his New York first trial in 2020. Two years later, he was condemned in Los Angeles of a separate violation load that also denied.
Then his sentence in New York and his 23 -year prison sentence were overturned by the highest court of the State last year. That investment led to the new trial, where the The expected positions and evidence differ a bit of the original test.
Prosecutors and defense lawyers must choose 12 jurors and six substitutes.
Judge Curtis Farber is supervising the thorough process: the nine jurors selected so far were eliminated from approximately 140 people who went through initials projection earlier this week.
Possible jurors can be excused for several reasons, from linguistic barriers to previous experiences with, or opinions about people or problems in one case. Prosecutors and defense lawyers also obtain a limited number of opportunities to eliminate the potential jury without giving a reason.
