Los Angeles – Los Angeles (AP) – Smokey Robinson’s The lawyer said that accusations of sexual violation and aggression against him in a demand for four former housewives are “vile” and “false.”
The lawyer Christopher Frost said in a statement on Wednesday that the evidence “will show that this is simply an ugly method to try to extract money from an 85 -year -old American icon.”
The lawsuit filed in the Superior Court of Los Angeles on Tuesday against the Motown Music Luminary seeks at least $ 50 million in damage to the alleged assaults, that women, according to women, took place between 2007 and 2024. Robinson’s wife, Frances Robinson, is also appointed as demanded to allegedly allow their behavior and create an abusive work environment.
“We will address the numerous aspects of the complaint that challenges credulity, as well as problems related to alleged deadlines, inconsistencies and relations between the plaintiffs and others,” said Frost’s statement.
The four women each allege each each one and Smokey Robinson would wait until they were alone with them in their home in Los Angeles and then assigned them and rape them sexually for their objections, in some cases for many years.
“We believe that Mr. Robinson is a rapist in series and sick, and must be arrested,” said women’s lawyer John Harris at a press conference on Tuesday.
Associated Press does not identify people who say they have been sexually attacked unless they are publicly identified. The women, whose names are held in the lawsuit, appeared with their lawyers at the press conference. They did not speak and covered their faces with masks.
Frost called the press conference “strange theatricality” and an attempt to “enlist the public as an involuntary participant in the media circus who are trying to create. We ask anyone who follows this case the trial as the evidence comes to light and all the real facts of the case are developed.”
A woman said she worked for Robinson from 2012 to 2024, and was attacked at least 20 times in that period. Another said she worked for him from 2014 to 2020, and was attacked at least 23 times.
All the accusers said they eventually resigned from the assaults, although in some cases it took several years. And everyone said they feared to present themselves for fear of reprisals, public shame and possible effects on their state of immigration. The fears themselves have prevented women from going to the police to inform Robinson, their lawyers said, although they also said that criminal investigation is justified.
Demand seeks damage based on sexual aggression, assault, false imprisonment, gender violence and other accusations.
Frost said Robinson would soon address the accusations himself, and that they would ask the court to dismiss the lawsuit.
Robinson, member of La Roca AND The Roll Fame and the Composers’ Hall of Fame, was among the greatest creators of the 1960 as a central part of the Motown Records machine, both with his group The Miracles and as a solo artist, with songs that include “Tears of a Clown” and “The Tracks of My Tears”.
