Houston – TO Southwest Airlines The flight had to be evacuated on Thursday after an engine fire forced him to return to a Houston airport.
The flight left the hobbies airport on its way to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, when it was forced to return around 11:15 am due to the fire, according to the Houston Fire Department.
When the plane landed, firefighters extinguished the fire and a small grass fire near the track, said the fire department in a statement.
No injuries were reported. The flight crew helped the 134 passengers to evacuate the plane, said Southwest Airlines in a statement.
The passengers left the plane in a skirting street at the airport, said the Federal Aviation Administration in an email.
The cause of the fire was being investigated, FAA said.
The airline was working to take all passengers to its final destination in Mexico.
