Ordered mental health evaluation for the man accused of killing 11 at the Vancouver Festival

Attending Friday’s audience was Marco Harder, vice president of the General Consulate of the Philippines.

He had previously been scheduled to appear before the court on May 26, after making his first video appearance on Sunday, the day after the attack.

Damienne Darby, of the British Columbia Prosecutor’s Office, said the lawyer had requested that the next appearance be advanced.

The appearance in court was produced only a few hours before a commemorative mass to pray for the victims of the tragedy.

The Provincial Government of BC had declared a provincial day of mourning on Friday for the victims.

In a statement, Prime Minister David Eby extended his “deepest and most sincere condolences” to anyone who has lost a loved one. He also wanted a rapid recovery for injured.

“For anyone who suffers: your pain is our pain,” said the statement. “Your loss is our loss. We are with you.”

Mayor Ken Sim also issued a statement by saying that the tragedy has touched people from all origins.

“We are devastated,” said the statement. “We are disconsolate. And we are together in pain and solidarity.”
