Frito-Lay lies tasty chips because they can contain unplaced milk

Frito-Lay is withdrawing a limited number of tortilla chips tostitos because they can contain unplaced milk.

The company said Wednesday that the retirement includes less than 1,300 bags of 13 ounces of traditional tostitous corn tortillas. The bags can contain tortilla chips with nacho cheese flavor, which are made with milk.

Frito-Lay said there have been no allergic reactions related to retirement. People with severe allergy or sensitivity could have a serious reaction if they eat fries and should throw them immediately, said Fito-Lay.

Frito-Lay, based in Texas, a Pepsico division, said that the affected bags were distributed to a mixture of retailers in 13 states: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Virginia Western.

Consumers would have been able to buy the chips on March 7. All affected bags have a “new guaranteed” date of May 20.
