Energy interruption at BWI airport interrupts air trips

Baltimore – An energy cut at Baltimore-Washington International Airport was causing significant delays in flights and other interruptions for air trips on Monday morning.

Airport officials said the interruption was affecting the areas of the main terminal and an adjacent parking lot.

According to a, more than 100 flights were delayed and a handful was canceled in the mid -morning Flight tracking website.

The interruption was reported around 7:40 am and caused by an electric line falling near the airport, said Stephanie Weaver, spokesman for Baltimore Gas and Electric Company. She said the teams are on the scene working to restore power.

Airport officials advised passengers to consult with their airlines on the flight. They also said that some incoming flights were diverted.

In a publication on social networks shortly before 10 in the morning, officials said that power was slowly restored throughout the main terminal. They said that some airlines were using air stairs to displace passengers.
