Beauty influencer kill

Mexico City – An influencer of social networks was shot dead while doing a live transmission from Tiktok in a beauty hall in the Mexican central state of Jalisco, state authorities confirmed Wednesday.

The clear sample of violence fed shock in the Latin American nation at a time when rival posters have fought with bloody wars for territorial control in much of Mexico.

Valeria Márquez, 23, seemed to have been talking to an out of the camera in her live broadcast on Tuesday when she was shot in her chest and once in her head and collapsed, dying instantly. The model and beauty influencer were inside a beauty salon in the municipality of Zapopan, the strips of Guadalajara, when it happened.

Only a few hours later, a former congressman with the Mexican party PRI Luis Armando Córdova Díaz, was also shot dead in a coffee in the area.

Prosecutors in Jalisco were still investigating, but the New Generation Jalisco poster maintains firm control over the region. State authorities said they were investigating Márquez’s death as a possible femicide, an extreme case of common gender violence in Latin America, where a woman is attacked due to their gender.

Márquez’s social media accounts have flooded for mourning comments and expressing shock.
