Los Angeles – Fans and VIP can fly their way to places in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games with the first aerial taxis that will be used in a game.
Archer Aviation’s piloted electric air taxi known as midnight will transport up to four passengers from a Vartiport take -off center and landing near an important place of about 10 to 20 minutes until its destination within the company’s angels network.
The planned network includes vertiports in Sofi Stadium In Inglewood and the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum south of the center, which are scheduled to share open and closing ceremonies. Other places are Los Angeles International Airport, Hollywood, Santa Monica and Orange County.
“We want to transform the way people look for Los Angeles and leave a legacy that shapes the future of transport in the United States,” said Adam Goldstein, CEO and founder of Archer Aviation, in a statement on Thursday. “There is no better time to do than during the Games of La28”.
Archer says that aerial taxis produces less noise and emissions than a traditional helicopter. The Evtol plane is built with redundant and fault tolerant systems, including 12 total engines and propellers, allowing Archer to certify the FAA certification at similar levels of safety than commercial airplanes. Air taxis are carried out in the company’s manufacturing plants in San José, California and Covington, Georgia.
As an official supplier of the Olympic Games of the 2028, Paralympics and USA team., Archer will also use aerial taxis to provide support to emergency services and safety.
“Our vision is to fundamentally reimagine the experience of the Olympic and Paralympic Games,” said Los Angeles President Casey Wasserman. “This association represents an incredible opportunity to offer something unprecedented.”
