152 dogs rescued from ‘extremely poor’ conditions in Utah

The authorities have rescued a total of 152 dogs living in “extremely poor” conditions of a house in Utah, authorities said.

The Police in Ogden, Utah, together with Ogden animal service officers, responded to a residence in Jefferson Avenue 3000 block after receiving a report of possible animal negligence, according to a press release from the Ogden City Police Department.

“Upon arrival and additional investigation, the officers discovered 152 dogs living in extremely poor and overpopulated conditions,” authorities said. “Due to the scale and seriousness of the situation, additional support from Weber County Animal Services, Roy Animal Services and Draper Animal Services was requested.”

The 152 dogs were safely eliminated from the property and are currently receiving veterinary attention, evaluations and refuge support, authorities said.

“Weber County Animal Services is working with Ogden City Animal Control to provide safe adaptations to animals in Hording’s investigation,” said Weber County Animal Services in a statement. “Animals are currently in the Weber County Animal Refuge in Blacks in free rooms, separated from other animals in our care to avoid the propagation of possible diseases.”

Animal services are now working with rescue groups and partners from other animal shelters to provide medical care and possible relocation for these animals.

“We will inform our community when these animals will be available for adoption and/or promotion. Keep in mind that this is a continuous investigation,” authorities said. “The Ogden and Ogden Animal Services police department thank all the agencies and partners who replied that they helped guarantee the safety and well -being of these animals.”
